Luis specializes in domestic and international corporate and financial transactions, as well as in structuring financings and guarantees, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, private equity and venture capital, Fintech and legal compliance (Money Laundering Prevention, Personal Data and Anti-Corruption Regulations).


In June 2010, Luis Rodolfo graduated from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City with a law degree and during 2010 and 2011 he completed a Postgraduate Specialization in “Financial Law Institutions” at the same university. In addition, Luis Rodolfo has a Master’s Degree in “Business Law” from the same Universidad Panamericana; he also has the Certification for external auditors, compliance officers and other professionals, in the Prevention of Operations with Resources of Illegal Proceeds and Financing of Terrorism issued by the National Banking and Securities Commission (Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores).


In his professional experience, he has collaborated from 2007 to 2009 as an intern in the associated notary public offices numbers 6 and 98 of Mexico City, in charge of Messrs. Fausto Rico Álvarez and Gonzalo M. Ortiz Blanco, respectively; from 2009 to 2011 he was an intern and associate at Bufete Rodríguez Cacho, S.C.; from 2011 to 2015 he was an associate at Hogan Lovells BSTL, S.C. (formerly Barrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa, S.C.) and in 2015 he joined the legal area of Planigrupo Latam, S.A.B. de C.V. In 2016, he joined PBP Abogados as an associate.


Recent Experience in Relevant Matters

  • He has collaborated in the restructuring of financing for one of the largest wind energy parks in Latin America, with the participation of national and foreign financial institutions. Likewise, he participated in the placement and contracting structure of the energy coming from the same generating park.
  • Participated in the corporate and asset restructuring of a Group, which included the restructuring of a financing for more than USD$350’000,000.00, as well as different mortgage guarantees on vessels and aircrafts, in favor of a foreign financial institution.
  • Developed the financing and marketing structure for different real estate developers.
  • Prepared the corporate and contractual scheme of a group dedicated to the construction, development and operation of storage and distribution terminals for hydrocarbons and petroleum products, also generating the investment and contribution schemes for the different investors in the project.
  • Developed and implemented the investment structure in different venture capital projects so that one of the investors of the Shark Tank Mexico® television program would invest with the “winning” entrepreneurs of said program.
  • He has developed the structure of various private equity and venture capital projects, including real estate projects, technology services and asset sales.
  • He has developed and implemented project structures for the provision of services through financial technology institutions (FINTECH).
  • He collaborates with different Multiple Purpose Financial Companies as corporate and compliance advisor in Money Laundering Prevention.
  • He collaborates as a compliance advisor in Money Laundering Prevention for different companies regulated under the Federal Law for the Prevention and Identification of Operations with Resources of Illicit Proceeds, better known as “Anti-Money Laundering Law”.
  • Corporate lawyer and advisor on foreign investments, with respect to companies regulated under the Foreign Investment Law for carrying out reserved and/or specifically regulated activities.
  • Negotiated and drafted the contract to supply raw materials to the world’s largest glass company for the production of products for all of Latin America.
  • He has developed the structures for the implementation of unblocking and, if necessary, takeovers, in business groups with corporate blockades.
  • He has collaborated in compliance matters for companies in the maritime and aeronautical services industry, with respect to personal data protection.
