Biography

Co-founding partner at Anker Abogados, Diego specializes in mergers and acquisitions; public tenders and procurement; real estate and infrastructure projects; and aviation law. In 2002, he graduated with a Law Degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, receiving special recognition for his thesis. In June 2007, he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law and Business from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, and subsequently completed a postgraduate program in Contract Law at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Prior to founding Anker Abogados, he served as an intern and associate at Martínez, Algaba, Estrella, De Haro y Galván-Duque, S.C., and from 2002 to 2013, he was the General Counse of Compañía Inversora Corporativa, S.A. de C.V.

Recent Experience in Significant Matters

  • Acted as lead partner in representing an international telecommunications company for leasing agreements and property acquisitions throughout Mexico.
  • Acted as lead partner representing a corporate energy group specializing in maritime and aviation transport for the acquisition of various aircraft and oil tankers, including public contracts and financing.
  • Acted as lead partner representing a corporate group for the acquisition of properties intended for real estate development projects in Mexico.
  • Acted as lead partner in representing an Industrial Park, located in a Special Economic Zone, focused on providing logistics, agribusiness, manufacturing, technology, electric substation, among others.
  • Participated in the acquisition and transfer of rights of a sports team, member of the Mexican Professional Baseball League.
  • Acted as lead partner in the negotiation and execution of various subscription and shareholders' agreements, as well as purchases, sales, mergers, and corporate restructurings regarding significant companies in various sectors.
  • Engaged in the negotiation and execution of various franchise, license, and intellectual property rights transfer contracts related to trademarks and copyrights.
  • Participated in the acquisition and transfer of rights of a sports team, member of the Canadian Premier League.
  • Participated in the negotiation and execution of various credit transactions.
